Evelyn Abernethy Robinette, 82, of Westminster, died February 9, 2013 at Transitions Healthcare Facility in Sykesville.
Born on October 20, 1930 in Charlotte, NC she was the daughter of the late Reid and Allea Crowell Abernethy. She was the wife of the late William L. “Bill” Robinette who died May 31, 2005.
She retired from Westminster Elementary School after working as a kindergarten teacher for 20 years. She had graduated from Flora MacDonald College in 1950. She was an active member of Crossroads Community Church, doing community Bible Studies and Maryland Emmaus groups. She also enjoyed spending time with family and grandchildren as well as helping others and volunteering as needed in the community and her church.
Surviving are son and daughter-in-law Reid and Elizabeth Robinette of Westminster; grandchildren Taylor Robinette of Chapel Hill, NC and Rebecca Robinette of Westminster. She is also survived by 5 brothers and 2 sisters.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, February 23, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Crossroads Community Church. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
