Obituary for Margaret Lorraine DiMaggio

Rev. Margaret Lorraine “GeeGee” DiMaggio, 73, of Westminster, went home to be with The Lord on Sunday, May 12, 2019. Margaret was born on January 31, 1946 in Sutton, West Virginia and was the daughter of the late Charles William, Sr. and Martha (Regan) Knight. She was the cherished wife of Rev. Thomas Alfred DiMaggio, Sr., with whom she celebrated 53 beautiful years of marriage.

Surviving in addition to her husband are beloved sons, their wives and children. Kevin (deceased) and Ann, Brian and Ginger, Shawn and JoAnn, Tom and Julie. Her siblings and their spouses: Charles (deceased) and Linda Knight, Jr., John and Kathy Knight, Lawrence and Lisa Knight. “GeeGee” was the proud and loving grandmother of 16 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter. She was an adored aunt by numerous nieces and nephews. Marge was a precious daughter-in-law, sister-in-law, cousin and aunt to the DiMaggio family.

Service will be held on Friday, May 17, 2019 at 8:00 pm in the Chapel of Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, 412 Washington Rd., Westminster. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm prior to the service. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held on Sunday, May 19, 2019. (see details below).

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Firm Foundation Memorial Fund to further her ministry. Contributions can be sent to FFWC Memorial Fund, 215 Leisters Church Rd., Westminster MD 21157.

The Celebration will be held in a “traditional Ms. Marge style”. In Honor of her many church dinners please bring a covered dish and dessert. The Celebration will be held at North Carroll Community School located at the intersection of Stone Rd and Route 97 in Westminster from 4-7 pm on Sunday, May 19th.

After high school Marge attended cosmetology school and obtained her Manager/Cosmetologist license. She spent many years working as a hair stylist.

Marge was a faithful servant of God and loved to worship Him.

Marge and Tom were very active in local churches and ministries. They led praise and worship at the Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship. She also spoke at many Women’s Aglow meetings. As a family, they traveled together and sang gospel songs to encourage and inspire others to follow Christ. The DiMaggio Family ministered at countless churches, retirement homes and many other places.

Marge was a Children's Choir director, orchestrated Christmas Pageants, led girls and women’s ministries and participated in numerous outreaches.

She provided family and children’s counseling at the Billy Graham Crusades, participated in Washington For Jesus and Westminster For Jesus.

Along with her husband, she was Co-Pastor and Co-Founder of Firm Foundation Worship Center. As Pastors, Marge and Tom, worked together as a team. They tirelessly served the families in Carroll County. Their goal was to inspire Christ-Centered families. Their life-long passion for Christ and music has been continued in their sons, daughters-in-law and grandchildren.

Marge enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and her loving bird Patience. Together with her husband, Tom, they enjoyed traveling to the Caribbean, Hawaii, Niagara Falls and many other places. They even ministered in Australia. GeeGee enjoyed cake decorating for weddings and making her legendary cheesecakes; as well as, cooking and baking with her children and grandchildren. Marge enjoyed many years of singing, playing the accordion, organ, and piano both in church and at home with her family. As an artist she recorded two anointed albums.
